Hey everyone! Today I have some new lippies from Rimmel called Show Off Lip Lacquer. They are a super pigmented lipgloss/lipstick hybrid. These are available only at Walgreen’s for $4.99 each. I picked up four shades: Big Bang (bright red creme) Stellar (orange leaning hot pink) Galaxy (medium purple shimmer) and Light Year (pinkish brown shimmer).

Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer

What they claim:

The earth-shattering lip lacquer from Rimmel London combining the intense color of lipstick with a lacquer like shine, Show Off Lip Lacquer is an explosive make-up phenomenon that represents the end of color as you know it. Packed with pure color pigments, its lusciously creamy, conditioning formula promises a never-before combination of color, shine and comfort that last and last.

  • For the first time, the intense, richer color of a lipstick is enhanced by a smooth satin shine
  • Ultra-intense, ultra-comfortable – it lasts all day
  • It’s neither a lipstick… nor a gloss… it’s BIGGER than both

Hey everyone! So I was at Dollar Tree the other day to pick up some V05 conditioners for cowashing and out of the corner of my eye I saw some Milani products in the makeup section! I went over to have a look and there were a bunch of the HD Advanced Lip Colors that came out a few years ago. I’m guessing they’ve been discontinued because I haven’t seen them in any drugstores lately but when they first came out they were about $7 each. I never got any when they first came out but I did remember seeing swatches and positive reviews of them. If you don’t know, everything at Dollar Tree is exactly one dollar so I was SUPER excited and promptly snatched up one of each color they had. And I must say, I am glad that I did.

They come in a slim black tube with a twist-click bottom. The packaging is very sturdy and feels like something you would get from a department store brand.

These have sheer to medium coverage. They have enough pigment that you can tell you have something on but are sheer enough to be very wearable. They  are  also very smooth and moisturizing. It does not feel like a lipstick at all more like a lip balm. These could not be more comfortable on the lips.

When I began researching how to get and maintain healthy hair one of the things almost every one agreed on was that you need to moisturize and seal every day or every other day. My problem with this was that my hair is very fine and easily weighed down so I just could not see how I could do that every day without having to wash my hair 2-3 times a week. I had been using African Pride Braid Sheen Spray for a while to moisturize my hair while it was braided when I was wearing my clip- ins.

I tried it on my hair when it was down on a whim and it worked wonders. I mist it very lightly over my hair, comb through, and then seal with a serum or natural oil depending on how I’m wearing my hair.  It doesn’t make my hair frizz up or become weighed down like most water based moisturizers do so I can do it every day which is great.

This morning before work I tried out a new mask I picked up at Ulta the other day. They were on sale buy one get one half off and I said why not since they were only a dollar and some change a piece. I picked up a fabric one (tea tree) and a clay one (mud pac).

I chose the tea tree one because I am currently fighting a breakout that is a result of me going to sleep two nights in a row without even removing my makeup let alone washing my face. Tea tree is supposed to treat blemishes and I figured the cooling of the spearmint would help calm the redness and inflammation.

I recently got really into wearing really bold lipstick colors. One thing I’ve learned along the way is that if your lips are even the SLIGHTEST bit chapped and you try to put on a bold lip color you are headed for hot mess territory. This yummy scrub is perfect for exfoliating chapped lips without being too harsh or drying them.

Hi there! Obviously I have been MIA for QUITE some while now. I’m not going to rationalize or make excuses about it because honestly it was a combination of being busy/lazy/letting my domain expire. BUT the good news is I’m back like I left something and I mean business! I plan to take my blog in a new direction and be more active with it.
