Today’s mani is a glitter gradient featuring China Glaze Fancy Pants and Nyx Dynamic Glitter.
Fancy Pants is a medium blue with a subtle purple shimmer. After it dries it is a little darker than what you see in the bottle.
Dynamic Glitter is a super sparkly lavender glitter with larger hexagon glitter.

I really like how these turned out. Glitter gradients are a really easy way to add a little exta something to a basic mani.

Hi there! Obviously I have been MIA for QUITE some while now. I’m not going to rationalize or make excuses about it because honestly it was a combination of being busy/lazy/letting my domain expire. BUT the good news is I’m back like I left something and I mean business! I plan to take my blog in a new direction and be more active with it.

This was a quick and easy design that I got the idea from on tumblr here.

I used a light blue called Now You Sea Me by L’Oréal and a medium berry/fuchia called Through the Grapevine from Wet n Wild’s Megalast line for the base colors. For the stripes and dots I used Black Satin from Rimmel.

Both WTSAY and Mitzi are a bit darker than DIOE. DIOE has a lot more yellow, Mitzi has more green, and WTSAY is more of a pea green.

This is two coats of Revlon Raspberry Rapture, a bright berry creme, topped off with one coat of Nicole by OPI Love Your Life. The hearts in Love Your Life are sparse so you have to kind of fish them out and place them on the nail, but its definitely worth it. I put Revlon Sublime Strawberry on my accent nail. The scented Revlons smell just like their names but it really only lasts about a day.

This was one coat of Do You Think I’m Tex-y, then one very light coat of Back Alley Deals then another coat of Do You Think I’m Tex-y and all topped off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Just saw the promo pics for these collections start popping up on the interwebs and I am suuuuuuuuper excited for all of these! In addition to their usual brights/neons they usually put out during the summer, China Glaze will also be releasing Safari which contains shades with a warmer, darker look.

I wonder if any of these are dupes of colors in the Poolside collection that came out in 2010?

I bought Orly Rock Solid from the Mineral FX collection a while ago and loved it. Then China Glaze came out with their Eye Candy 3D Glitters collection featuring Some Like it Haute. At first I thought that Some Like it Haute was a dupe  for Rock Solid and figured I would pass, but then I saw my sister on Christmas and she had it on and it looked much blingier than Rock Solid. So I stole it from her and decided to compare the two. Turns out Rock Solid is darker and smoother and Some Like it Haute is lighter and chunkier. Orly’s polish is like a gray shimmer with holo glitter sprinkled in, while Some Like it Haute is all glitter. The formula on both was good (this is actually only one coat of each with no topcoat) although I did have to add some thinner to Some Like it Haute but that could be because my sister didn’t close the bottle all the way the last time she used it.

The winner for me is Some Like it Haute just because it has more glitter and sparkle. But I still love Rock Solid, its just a darker, more subtle version.
